- After the war, Okinawa was under the rule of US military. But Kokusai-dori Street quickly accomplished a revival at that time. Kokusai-dori Street was called by the name "Miraclous One Mile". Gabu Bridge was on Kokusai-dori Street. In June, 1953, the name was changed, by public voting; the bridge became Mustumi Bridge. The following wish, "Regardless of your nationality, we hope to get along (mutsumu) with each other." was put on the bridge and named it. The bridge railing was removed when Gabu river's renovation finished in June, 1965. A long time ago, there was a dreary road and, marshy area spread out around there, but Chinese ships sailed near there.
