Historic sitesHistoryShuri Castle ParkWorld heritage
The Una is the central courtyard of Shuri Castle, where red and white tiles pave the area. The colored bands are used by officials to assist them in lining up in order of rank during ceremonies. A red, tiled path in the center of the courtyard is called “Ukimichi” and only high-ranking officials such as the king could walk on it.
