Secondary Junior High School Boys Monument (Nichu Kenji no Tou)

This monument was built for offering prayers for peace and for the repose of the souls of the teachers and students of the Okinawa Prefecture Secondary Junior High School who became victims of the Battle of Okinawa.

- This monument was built for offering prayers for peace and for the repose of the souls of 185 students and 9 teachers of the Okinawa Prefectural 2nd Junior High School, who were mobilized into the war as student soldiers. It was relocated to Jogaku from Onoyama on November 20, 1990. A memorial service in honor of the memory of the students and teachers who lost their lives in the war took place at the Okinawa Prefectural 2nd Junior High School Boys Monument on Memorial Day, June 23. Alumni, school teachers, PTA officials, students, a brass band and a choir attend the memorial service.
